Normanby Cup: Brisbane Irish vs Beaudesert

Irish got off to a flying start when a loose pass was kicked on by Irish Centre William Read and finished off by Read. 5-0 to the Irish. The home side pressed hard again and two more tries before the half from front row Coen Romanowski and back row Stephen Freyne put the home side well in front.

Half time 15-0


The second half saw Beaudesert play a tight pick-and-go style of rugby which the Irish has to up and deal with. Two more tries from Blake Newell and Stephen Freyne left the Final score Brisbane Irish 27 Beaudesert 0. Next up for the Irish is away trip to Colleges Knights.

Pegg Cup: North Lakes vs Brisbane Irish

Irish travelled to North Lakes for the Round 7 clash looking to make it 7/7. It was very windy conditions so Irish decided to kick possession downfield and try to force North Lakes to make the mistakes. Irish managed to get a scrum 10m from the North Lakes line and pushed them over for number 8 Mick Byrne to touch down.

It was a frustrating game of rugby with windy conditions North Lakes kept it tight which resulted in them coming away with a score. A few more tries from Ollie Bastable, Brock McGarity and Dave Bridgeman gave the Irish a healthy lead considering the conditions.

Second half was more of the same. The Irish looked good in patches and always looked dangerous when playing in the North Lakes half. Another 3 tries from Braden Lockyer, Ollie Bastable and Mew recruit Graham Cullen left the final score North Lakes 12 Brisbane Irish 44. Next up for the Irish is a home game against the Brisbane Hustlers and the Club Day.
