2nd grade welcomed table leaders Wests to Everton Park last Friday night. The visitors showed early on why they are on top of the table with four first half tries. Pegg Cup: Ipswich Rangers vs Brisbane Irish
1st grade travelled to Ipswich last Saturday looking to keep their unbeaten run in the league and they didn’t disappoint. The Irish dominated the breakdown which allowed them to send the ball wide and looked dangerous each time. Irish Second row Mick Byrne got in for the first try. Three more followed from winger Graham Cullen, out half Brock McGarity and try-scoring machine Matt Smith left the half time score Ipswich 0 Brisbane Irish 31.
Second half saw Ipswich come out with some big tackles and stronger carries which resulted in the home side getting near the Irish line multiple times. The Irish stayed patient and kept Ipswich out. Three more tries from Matt Smith and Mick Byrne left the final score Ipswich Rangers 0 Brisbane Irish 50.
